"There is only one time that it is essential to awaken...that time is now." -Buddha
Our Zen group is an independent entity, unaffiliated with any specific denomination of Buddhism. Our group is a lay-lead gathering, meaning that we have no official teacher or hierarchy, but all are welcome to openly participate and share in the duties of facilitating, leading a discussion or to simply offer input into the life of this gathering as they feel moved to do so.
We consider our group a PLACE FOR FELLOWSHIP and offer a caring, spiritual and open environment. You may be brand new to meditation, or already a practicing Zen Buddhist. Regardless, you're always welcome here.
We also consider our group a PLACE FOR LEARNING. We are engaged in the study of Buddhism at large, but focus on the Zen Buddhist path, which any ordinary person can follow, even in the midst of our busy work schedules and active home-lives.
And finally, we consider our group to be a PLACE FOR PRACTICE. Every gathering is an occasion for spiritual refreshment, full of blessings and inspiration. Our primary reason for meeting together is to practice the Dharma (teachings) and to awaken to the Oneness of all living beings.
Our meetings include Zazen (meditation), discussion on contemporary topics and an intimate space to let go of all the daily noise and distractions and to find ourselves again. Remembering, also, that the central focus of Zen is learning to just BE.
Thanks for taking the time to view our humble website.
"Zazen is itself enlightenment" -Zen Master Dogen
